What I mean by 12th-fret body joint is: Does the body meet the neck at the 12th fret or the 14th fret?

Yes, the set-up is worth doing...especially if you're planning on keeping your 12-string and using it to boot. I'm into 12-strings myself...in fact, I've just about finished a new CD titled: "12-String Drawings from the Acoustic Forest".
