Fingerstyle Acoustic Steel String Guitar is the groundwork of The TravelleR. From the beginning, a love for fingerpicking guitar and all of its possibilities, was a central focus ... Many acoustic-based artists utilized fingerstyle guitar creating wondrous moving sounds: Arlo Guthrie, Jimmy Page, Cat Stevens, Justin Hayward, Jorma Kaukonen, George Harrison, James Taylor, Chet Atkins, Marcel Dadi, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Peter Lang, Stefan Grossman ... all had a major influence on The TravelleR. All other instrumentation to follow, including mandolin, 5-string banjo and resophonic guitar were somewhat channeled with fingerstyle guitar as the bedrock. This influence is illustrated well since The TravelleR pursues mandolin as a serious fingerstyle instrument ... and, outside of tradition, the 5-string banjo and squareneck resonator guitar have both been studied utilizing four fingers instead of three.
